Chief Warrant Officer Five Brian S. Bergeron

412th Theater Engineer Command

Chief Warrant Officer Five Brian S. Bergeron assumed the role of Command Chief Warrant Officer of the 412th TEC on 15 October 2023. He is a native of Framingham, Massachusetts and enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in February 1989. He obtained the rank of Staff Sargent before being appointed as an Army Engineer Warrant Officer in 1998. CW5 Bergeron has served as engineer plans officer, prime power platoon leader, powerline detachment commander, and key Brigade staff positions before acceding to the Command Chief Warrant Officer of the 412th TEC.

Mr. Bergeron’s most recent assignment prior to the 412th TEC, was Senior Warrant Officer Advisor for 302D Maneuver Enhancement Brigade. He was responsible for managing all Warrant Officer issues, training requirements, and filling Warrant Officer shortages. His previous assignments include, Task Force Engineer Plans Officer for CRE-A 76 ORC, Brigade Sharp/SARC of Task Force CRE-A 76 ORC and 302D MEB, Prime Power Platoon Leader in Delta Company 249th EN BN, Power Line Detachment Commander of 6th Platoon Alpha Company 249th EN BN, and Utility Maintenance Plans Officer in 94th Reserve Support Command.  

He has served in various operational and technical roles including multiple oversees deployments, his first in 2003-2004 to Iraq. His responsibilities during this deployment included commanding an overhead powerline detachment working at the Army Corps Level and Theater Opening responsibilities (prime power). Mr. Bergeron was part of the planning process of an enduring presence and power resources availability. The detachment also provided vital repairs to the damaged power grid in strategic locations.  

Mr. Bergeron is a graduate of the Engineer Warrant Officer Basic and Advance Course, Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Education Course, and Warrant Officer Senior Service Education course. His civilian certifications and licenses include a Massachusetts Journeyman and Master Electrical license, High and Medium Voltage Splicer Federal Certification, Class A Rated Journeyman Lineman, Massachusetts Hoisting and Rigging license, Class A CDL, an Authorized Person Listing for New England Power Electrical Utility in Switching and Controllership, and PMP Certification in Project Management.  

A sampling of Mr. Bergeron’s awards includes the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (6 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (10 OLC), the National Defense Service Medal (1 STAR), the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal (6 OLC), the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal (M device and gold X), the Combat Action Badge, and the Army Master Driver Badge.

Chief Warrant Officer Five Bergeron currently works as a manager of electrical substation (345KV, 110KV, 13.8KV, and 4KV) for Eversource Energy, primary unitality company in all five New England states. He resides in Reading, Massachusetts with his wife of 29yrs, Heidi and has two adult children Adam and Caitlin.
