BRIG. GEN. GERALD R. KRIMBILL

Commanding General, United States Army Reserve Legal Command

BG Gerald R. Krimbill earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame in 1988, and his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1991. His military education includes a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and graduation from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the Judge Advocate Officer Basic and Advanced Courses.

Following his graduation from law school, BG Krimbill was commissioned in the JAG Corps and served approximately five years on Active Duty, first at the Aviation and Troop Command as a General Law and Procurement Attorney, and later at Fort Sam Houston, where he served as a Contract Law Attorney. BG Krimbill was mobilized as the Acting Commander, U.S. Army Legal Services Agency and Chief Judge, U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals from February-December 2020. His previous assignments include: Assistant Judge Advocate General for Military Law and Operations (Individual Mobilization Augmentee), Chief Judge (Individual Mobilization Augmentee), U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals; Deputy Director, Rule of Law, Kabul, Afghanistan, Deputy Commanding Officer (West), U.S. Army Reserve Legal Command; Commander, 1st Legal Operations Detachment; Commander 117th Legal Operations Detachment; Deputy Commander, 22d Legal Support Organization; Acting Staff Judge Advocate, U.S. Army Medical Command; Instructor, U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer’s Course; Acting Staff Judge Advocate, Fort Sam Houston, and 1st Legal Support Organization. His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star.

In his civilian capacity, BG Krimbill serves as a Department of the Army Civilian Contract Law Attorney for the U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command. He previously served as a Contract Law Attorney for the U.S. Army Medical Command and as a Labor Attorney for U.S. Army South. He is a member of the Minnesota Bar.

BG Krimbill and his wife, Elisabeth, have two sons and one daughter.
