Brig. Gen. Kelly Hagenbeck

Deputy Commanding General-Support, 88th Readiness Division

Brig. Gen. Kelly A. Hagenbeck is the Deputy Commanding General-Support for the 88th Readiness Division headquartered at Fort Snelling, Minn, and Fort McCoy, Wis. He assumed the position in July 2024. Previously he was assigned as the Commanding General, 87th Training Division, Birmingham, Ala.  

Hagenbeck’s previous command assignments include: Commander, 518th Sustainment Brigade, Knightdale, N.C.; Commander 1182nd Deployment and Distribution Support Battalion, North Charleston, S.C.; Commander 352nd Transportation Supervision Team, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Commander 505th Transportation Detachment, Gainesville, Fla.

Additional assignments: Trainmaster, 416th Transportation Battalion, Jacksonville, Fla; Platoon Leader/Executive Officer, 489th Transportation Company, Jacksonville, Fla;    S-2, 1186th Transportation Terminal Brigade, Jacksonville, Fla; Assistant Support Plans Officer, Standing Joint Force Headquarters, Norfolk, Va.; S-3, 257th Transportation Battalion, Gainesville, Fla.; Executive Officer, 2nd Battalion 485th Regiment, 98th Division; Assistant Chief of Staff, G2, 143rd Sustainment Command, Orlando, Fla; Deputy Chief of Staff, 108th Training Command, Charlotte, N.C.; Support Operations, 79th Theater Support Command, Los Alamitos, Cal.; Chief of Staff, 85th Support Command, Arlington Heights, Ill. and Deputy Commander, 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, San Antonio, Texas.

 

His mobilizations and deployments consist of Operation Enduring Freedom, Turkey; Operation Iraqi Freedom, Kuwait; Operation Enduring Freedom, Norfolk, Va. and Coronavirus Response, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

 

Hagenbeck obtained a bachelor’s degree in history from Florida State University, master’s degree in executive leadership from Liberty University, master’s degree of strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College, and master’s degree in management from the University of Central Florida. 

His military education includes: Transportation Officers Basic and Advanced Courses; Combined Arms Service Staff School; Multifunctional Logistic Course; Command & General Staff College; Advanced Joint Military Professional Education; Reserve Components National Security Course and the Defense Support of Civil Authorities Course.

Hagenbeck’s awards and decorations for service comprise of: Combat Action Badge, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Army Achievement Medal.
