CSM Ronald Hassler enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve on August 15, 1989. During his 30 plus years of service, CSM Hassler served in a variety of professionally rewarding and developmental positions in logistical, operational and functional commands.
Prior to his assignment as the Command Sergeant Major for the 79th Theater Sustainment Command he served as the Command Sergeant Major for the 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Des Moines, IA; Command Sergeant Major for the 561st Regional Support Group, Elkhorn, Nebraska; Command Sergeant Major, 418th Civil Affairs Battalion, Belton, Missouri; S3 Sergeant Major, First Sergeant, Operations NCOIC, Duty Appointed Retention NCO, Duty appointed Master Fitness Trainer and Platoon Sergeant, 561st Corps Support Group, Elkhorn, Nebraska; Supply Sergeant and MHE operator positions, 1012th Quartermaster Company formerly located in Fremont, Nebraska.
His Military campaigns include Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Spartan Shield. CSM served his first overseas tour with the 1012th QM Company in 1990 followed by three tours (2004, 2009) with the 561st Regional Support Group in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and 2019 with 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command supporting Operation Spartan Shield.
CSM Hassler is currently employed as an Assistant Vice President of Corporate Operations and Customer Service for Great Western Bank, a financial institution with geographical responsibility covering nine states. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with degrees in Finance, Banking and Marketing with influence in Anti-money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, Compliance, Bank Auditing, and Retail Bank Operations.
CSM Hassler's Military education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course (Commandant's List), Basic Non-Commissioned Officer’s Course (92A), Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer’s Course (92A), and Battle Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Course, where he graduated as Honor Graduate in each course. Additionally, he completed the Duty Appointed Retention NCO Course, Contracting Officer Representative Course, and Anti-terrorism Level II and III. In July 2008, CSM Hassler completed the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. Most recently CSM Hassler completed Nominative Leader Course at the US Army War College in Carlisle Barracks Pennsylvania.

CSM Hassler is married to his lovely wife Sherry of 24 years and resides in Pacific Junction, Iowa.
