COL Ricardo L. Warfield is a native of Clarksville, Tennessee. COL Warfield served three years in the Tennessee National Guard from 1989 to 1992 as a Field Medical Specialist with the 661st Medical Detachment. In 1992, he joined the 300th Combat Support Hospital, Smyrna, Tennessee as a SMP Cadet and Medical Platoon Leader. COL Warfield received his commission from Middle Tennessee State University ROTC program into the Military Intelligence Corps in 1994.
After commissioning as a Second Lieutenant as an intelligence officer, he served as the Assistant S2, HHC 3/7 Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart Georgia; Mission Operations Platoon Leader, Bravo Company, 224 Military Intelligence Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia, XVIII Airborne Corps; and Battalion S2, HSC 224th Military Intelligence Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia, XVIII Airborne Corps.
COL Warfield transitioned to Army Reserve in the year of 1999. He joined the 345th Military Intelligence Battalion serving in a variety of assignments to include Signals Intelligence Team OIC; Alpha Company Commander; and Collection Manager. In 2004, he was assessed into the Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) as a Military Intelligence Career Manager, Army Human Resources Command, Saint Louis, Missouri.
Since joining the AGR Program, COL Warfield has served in a variety of assignments, to include General Officer Management Officer; Battalion Executive Officer; Brigade Deputy Commander; Southeastern Army Reserve Intelligence Support Center (ARISC), Reserve Affairs Officer; Chief of Staff, Military Intelligence Readiness Command (MIRC) and currently serving as the Deputy Commanding Officer, Military Intelligence Readiness Command (MIRC).
Command Assignments include Company Commander, Alpha Company, 345th Military Intelligence Battalion; Commander, Southeastern Army Reserve Intelligence Support Center, Forest Park, Georgia, where he also served as the Reserve Component functional lead for All Source, individual, collective, and sustainment training.
COL Warfield holds a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College, Masters of Science in Human Resources from Webster University, and baccalaureate degree in Biology from Middle Tennessee State University. He is a graduate of the Medical Specialist Course, Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course, Signals Intelligence Electronic Warfare Officers Course, Military Intelligence Officer Advance Course, Career Managers Course, Human Resource Managers Course, Command and General Staff College, Joint Professional Military Education Level II, and the Army War College Senior Leader Seminar.
COL Warfield’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (silver and two bronze oak leaf clusters), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (oak leaf cluster), the Army Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M device, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, Over Seas Ribbon, Parachutists Badge, and the Knowlton Award.
