Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Luchsinger

Command Sergeant Major, 108th Training Command (IET)

Command Sergeant Major Christopher Luchsinger enlisted in the Army in August 1988 and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training as an Infantryman at Fort Benning, Georgia.

His initial assignment was to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC, where he served in a weapons squad as an assistant gunner and an M-60 machine gunner. In 1992, he left active duty and subsequently served with the 53rd Infantry Brigade in the Florida Army National Guard for eight years; he enlisted in the Army Reserve in 2001.

CSM Luchsinger has served in numerous leadership positions throughout his career. These positions include Squad Leader, Bravo Company 3/124 Infantry Regiment; Drill Sergeant, 323rd Regiment (BCT); Senior Drill Sergeant, 3/485th Regiment (BCT); Operations Sergeant (Team NCOIC) 1st Division Iraqi National Police Transition Team; First Sergeant, Delta Company, 3/485th (INOSUT); Senior Observer / Controller Trainer; 75th Training Command; Command Sergeant Major, 314th Press Camp Headquarters; Command Sergeant Major, Southeast Medical Area Readiness Support Group; Command Sergeant Major, Army Reserve Sustainment Command; and his current assignment as the Command Sergeant Major for the 80th Training Command (The Army School System). His military campaigns include Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

His military and civilian education includes Airborne School, Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Drill Sergeant School, Transition Team Training Course, First Sergeants Course, Battle Staff Noncommissioned Officers Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, Public Affairs Qualification Course, and US Army Sergeants Major Academy Non-Resident Course. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of West Florida and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Troy University.
