BG Timothy D. Connelly currently serves as the Commanding General of the 9th Mission Support Command with headquarters at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. He was commissioned in May 1990 as a Distinguished Military Graduate of the ROTC program at LaSalle University, Philadelphia, PA.
Notable prior assignments include: leadership, staff, and command assignments in Military Police, Logistics, Installation Management, and Training units in Virginia, Florida, New Jersey, and Washington D.C., as well as serving on the Army Secretariat and HQDA Staffs; BG Connelly has served as Commander of the 351st Military Police Company (CS); J3 Chief of Plans, Joint Sustainment Command – Afghanistan; Deputy Commander of ASA, Ft. Dix, NJ; Legislative Affairs Branch Chief, Office of the Chief of Army Reserve; Military Advisor – Readiness to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Training, Readiness, and Mobilization; and Executive Officer to the Chief of Army Reserve and Commanding General, United States Army Reserve Command, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. BG Connelly has served two combat tours, commanding a combat support Military Police Company in Iraq and serving on a general officer joint staff in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Prior to assuming his current position, BG Connelly was the Deputy Commander – Operations, 9th Mission Support Command with headquarters at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
BG Connelly is a graduate of numerous military courses to include the Military Police Officer Basic Course, the Military Police Officer Advanced Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, the Airborne Course, and the Air Assault Course.
During his career, he proudly served in two units awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation. BG Connelly has been awarded the Legion of Merit with one oak leaf cluster, the Bronze Star Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Department of the Army Staff Badge, and the Combat Action Badge.
BG Connelly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies.
