Education and Military
Lewis Vasquez (LTC, USA, Ret), is a graduate of Norwich University birthplace of Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) and the Army Command and General Staff College. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Hartford. His Army Reserve and active duty service of over 28 years included various positions in military intelligence units and culminating as Commander of a Military Intelligence Detachment (Strategic), assignments also included Deputy Chief of Staff of the 76th Division. Lew was mobilization during Desert Storm/Shield where he was assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) as Intelligence Officer Team Chief with responsibilities for managing and monitoring world-wide all source intelligence, and the analysis and dissemination of terrorist threat and alert activities.
Lew’s professional experience includes service as Ambassador, United States Army Reserves for Connecticut; State Chairman and Chairman Emeritus of the Connecticut Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee (ESGR); Special Investigator for the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Coast Guard, Customs and Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE); and Risk Manager/Consultant for Fleet Boston Financial/Bank of America. He developed Disaster Recovery Plans for computer/data systems for Aetna Insurance and Mohegan Sun Casino; implemented local area networks (LAN) for Department of Consumer Protection and a secured LAN at the U.S. Naval Base New London. Lew served as an Assistant to the Executive Director to create the CT Drug Advisory Council. Lew is an Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice/National Security Program at the University of New Haven. He was also teaching in the Criminal Justice Program, Cyber Security and Computer Crime at Naugatuck Valley Technical Community College, and at Goodwin College where he developed a Homeland Security degree program.
