The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Fort McCoy Soldiers and Sparta Chamber of Commerce Honor Walter Haag
Soldiers from the 181st Multi-Training Brigade, gathered for a brief ceremony with members of the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce and other organizations to pay tribute to Retired Col. Walter Haag, for his 37 years of service to the U.S. Army Reserve, on December 17, 2020, at Fort McCoy, Wis. Haag suffers from Alzheimer's Disease, and wife Evelyn Haag, who accompanied him at the event, said on his behalf that they were both emotional and deeply appreciative that Soldiers and local organizations took time to honor his service. Haag served in the then 88th Regional Readiness Command at Fort Snelling, Minn., from approximately 2001 to 2005. Also present were members of the Fort McCoy Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, Monroe Country Veterans' Services, and the 88th Readiness Division. (U.S. Army photos by Sgt. 1st Class John Freese)
