The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Push It
U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 332nd Transportation Battalion, and U.S. Air Force airmen from the 315th Airlift Wing push a pallet loaded with warfighting materiel out of a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III cargo plane during an aerial redeployment training mission Sept. 27, 2017, at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. The simulated deployment movement was the culminating part of a week-long Deployment Readiness Exercise Level III. The DRE Level III is a multi-dimensional real world training event where a unit is notified to mobilize and must prepare to deploy to any corner of the globe within a 96-hour window. The unit ensures its Soldiers meet the requirements for deployment, which include medical and personnel records checks and skill qualification measurements and remedy any deficiencies found. Exercises like the DRE Level III help Army Reserve units remain capable and ready to accomplish a variety of missions both at home and abroad within a moment’s notice. They also help senior leaders identify deficiencies and implement improvements that cut the time and resources required to send their Soldiers into battle. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
