Members of Kaiserslautern area Boy Scout Troop 232 work on a student memorial restoration project led by Nathan Perez on October 6, 2018 at what is now Kaiserslautern Middle School. While this is Perez’s Eagle Scout project, it is meant to honor the memory of Erick Lynch, a Kaiserslautern American High School student and Boy Scout, who was killed in 1998, and to whom this statue was dedicated that year. Over the years, the memorial had fallen into neglect. (U.S. Army Reserve Photo by Sgt. 1st Class John Freese, 7th MSC Public Affairs)
