WACKERNHEIM, Germany - U.S. Army Reserve Cpt. William Schlotzhauer, a civil affairs team chief with Charlie Company, 457th Civil Affairs Battalion, Wackernheim, Germany, acted as the town mayor during a multinational, multiorganizational field training exercise in humanitarian assistance and populace control in collaboration with the Bundeswehr, Technisches Hilfswerk (THW), American Red Cross, and US Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance, September 15. 457th CA BN falls under 361st CA BDE, located in Kaiserslautern, Germany, which is the U.S. Army Reserve's only forward deployed multifunctional civil affairs unit in Europe providing civil affairs; movement control; human resource; chemical, biological, nuclear and radiological; public affairs and forward engineering support to U.S. Army Europe.
