PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Retired Maj. Gen. Jonathan Woodson, a former commanding general of the Pinellas Park, Fla., based Army Reserve Medical Command, spoke Dec. 2, 2023, at the command's Senior Leader Forum, Dec. 1, 2023, through Dec. 3, 2023, hosted by the Warrior Medics to discuss AR-MEDCOM's transformation, a response to Big Army's pivot away from counterinsurgency to Large Scale Combat Operations and Large Scale Mobilization Operations. Woodson told the participants, which included 11 other general officers, that the Army and the Defense Department are changing to meet challenges from near-peer militaries in a world resembling the geopolitics of the 1930s.
