807TH THEATER MEDICAL COMMAND

TEL AVIV, Israel - An Israeli Defense Force Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider shows whole blood resources inside an armored personnel carrier designed for casualty care to a multinational team of trauma experts from the Trauma Hemostasis Oxygenation Research Network (THOR) delegation on April 9, 2024. The THOR group traveled to Israel to meet with the IDF Surgeon General and medical leadership to exchange lessons learned in combat casualty care and to study the IDF’s medical response during ongoing operations in Gaza. Lt. Col. Kevin R. Ward, a U.S. Army Reserve emergency physician with the 948th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Detachment, 807th Theater Medical Command, participated as a member of the THOR delegation based on his expertise and innovations in damage control resuscitation and medical training, second from the right.
