FAIRFAX, Va. -- - Three Soldiers receive the George Mason University “Made a Difference Award” for their personal impact to the Army’s three components, presented during an award ceremony held at the EagleBank Arena, in Fairfax, Virginia, February 10, 2019. Master Sgt. Amanda Nolte, with the 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power), received the award on behalf of the active component for her 20 years of service, in which she has responded to natural disasters that included hurricanes that hit Texas, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Master Sgt. Michel Sauret, with the 200th Military Police Command, received the award on behalf of the U.S. Army Reserve, for his public affairs achievements that include 2018 Military Visual Awards Photographer of the Year and his direct mentorship of Soldiers who have won Army Photographer of the Year, Army Journalist of the Year, Army Reserve Outstanding New Writer and Army Reserve Photographer of the Year. Sgt. Yijin Huang, received the award on behalf of the Army National Guard for designing an application dashboards and web portals that greatly improved the efficiency of the National Guard Director of the Staff, and replacing a legacy system worth $60,000 in design costs. The Fairfax-Lee Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) sponsors this award annually. Ken Britt, the AUSA Fairfax-Lee Chapter’s president, and Brad Edwards, the George Mason University Athletic Director, presented the award to the three Soldiers.
