STOCKBRIDGE, Mich. — - Mark Bowdish, a former U.S. Army Reserve medic with the 303rd Military Police Company, of Jackson, Michigan, kisses his girlfriend, Marilyn Nido, during the annual "Happy Alive Day" picnic he hosts to celebrate life with his fellow Soldiers, friends and family in Stockbridge, Michigan, June 16, 2018. Bowdish was shot by the Taliban four times during an attack he and his Soldiers survived in Kandahar, Afghanistan, June 19, 2012.
