On April 23rd, the Army and the Nation will join us in recognizing the Army Reserve’s 106th anniversary. A strong kindred spirit binds our nearly 200,000 Soldiers to our neighbors and communities across the country and around the world. Generations of Reserve Soldiers have paved the way for service-members who embrace our Nation’s call to duty by volunteering to serve as “Citizen-Soldiers”.
Complex demands for the future require continued reliance on our team. The global fiscal environment brings growing security challenges to our way of life. Our coalition partners, must create a balance between economies of scale and the development and use of ready, agile, and adaptable forces. The Army Reserve stands ready to meet those challenges.
We must find new and innovative ways to invest funds, capabilities, and assets in a manner that guarantees maximum return on investment. The Private Public Partnership merges the best of Army training and civilian professional development to expand the skills and core competencies of our Soldiers. Both military and civilian skills are enhanced to maintain a ready and resilient force despite budget cuts.
Your professionalism, dedication, and technical proficiency build upon our extensive and distinguished legacy as a life-saving, life-sustaining force for the Nation. Take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments and sacrifices made by the men and women who served before us. It is the road we build today that will lead future generations of Army Reserve Soldiers and Families beyond the 21st Century.
We remain …
Twice the Citizen, Army Strong!
