U.S. Army Reserve searches for newest Best Warrior
Are you mentally and physically fit? Do you embody the Army values? Are you one of the best the Army Reserve has to offer? If so, the Army Reserve is looking for you to be its next Best Warrior.
The U.S. Army Reserve will host this year's Best Warrior competition at Fort McCoy, Wis., from June 23-28, 2013. Enlisted Soldiers in the rank of E-1 to E-7 are eligible to compete. The competitors will spend the week on a variety of challenges. They will take the Army Physical Fitness Test consisting of push-ups, sit-ups and a two mile-run; perform in an Army appearance board; complete a timed Road March; complete a written examination and essay on general military topics; fire M-4 rifles; negotiate day and night Urban Warfighting Orienteering courses; and prove their mettle in other tests of skill such as hand-to-hand combat, first aid, and various mystery events.
This is the seventh year the Army Reserve will hold the competition to determine who the top non-commissioned officer and junior enlisted Soldier is among the approximately 200,000 Citizen-Soldiers serving at home and around the world. Winners from this competition will represent the Army Reserve Command at the Department of the Army Best Warrior Competition, later this year.
An awards banquet will also be conducted to announce the winners of the competition. Attendance is mandatory for competitors, who will attend at no cost, but attendance is limited to 250 personnel. Anyone wishing to attend must register in advance via the U.S. Army Reserve Command Banquet Registration page on AKO at: https://www.us.army.mil/suite/page/635014
