ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Lt. Col. Caragher, Deputy G-3, 85th U.S. Army Support Command, pauses for at photo at the International 2012 Boston Open, where he earned a gold medal in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Caragher, is an award-winning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor. Originally from Schiller Park, Illinois, Caragher became interested in Jiu-Jitsu during his second tour as an Active Guard/Reserve officer based in California. He practices Jiu-Jitsu three or four times a week and currently holds a brown belt in the sport. His sports background includes participation in wrestling, hockey, football, cross training and the triathlon. Caragher joined the Army in 1985 and graduated from the Reserve Officer Training Corp at Northern Illinois University. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his service on a combat tour in Iraq from May 2006 until August 2007. (Courtesy Photo)
