FORT MCCOY, Wis. - Spc. Dimitri Persad, Motor Transportation Operations Specialist, 211th Inland Cargo Transfer Company, Garden Grove, California, fires at the enemy from a guard tower during a day time attack on August 18, 2019. The opposition force attempted to infiltrate the southeast corner of the base prompting the quick reactionary force to respond to secure the area. Responding to a base attack is one of the scenarios evaluated by observer coach/trainers during the exercise. Army Reserve Soldiers traveled to Fort McCoy, Wisconsin to participate in the 86th Training Division’s CSTX 86-19-04 during the month of August. Active duty and Army Reserve observer coach/trainers from First Army’s 181 Multi-functional Training Brigade, 85th U.S. Army Support Command, 84th Training Command and 86th Training Division supported Army Reserve and National Guard Soldiers improve their functional and tactical skills by coaching and teaching them about tactical field craft in an austere environment. Soldiers were trained in objectives such as base defense operations, convoy operations and applying first aid on the battlefield. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Sgt. David Lietz)
