MacDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - Army Staff Sgt. David A. Gonzalez, a recruiter assigned to the Tampa Recruiting Battalion, U.S. Army Recruiting Command, gives a drawstring bag filled with U.S. Army swag to two boys who visited the Army Village during the Tampa Bay Airfest in MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, March 25, 2022. Gonzalez, a New York City native, and his team of Army recruiters disseminated U.S. Army promotional material to all visitors who participated in one of three Army Combat Fitness Test stations set up at the Army Village. The ACFT stations gave visitors a hands-on tryout on how the Army evaluates its Soldiers’ strength, speed and stamina. The Tampa Airfest is one of many public events the Tampa Recruiting Battalion participates to connect with communities, communicate with families and educate potential recruits about the hundreds career opportunities offered in the U.S. Army. The Army Reserve seeks more than 8,300 new Soldiers to fill its ranks. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. John L. Carkeet IV, 75th Innovation Command).
