Army Reserve Ambassador William G. Beard retired as a Major General with 38 years of service in the United States Army and Army Reserve. During his Army Career, he commanded Army Reserve units from Battalion to a Command. He served as an active duty Deputy Corps Commander in Iraq and for the U.S. Army Pacific Theater. One of his assignments allowed him to stand up and command a joint training brigade at Fort Bragg (2006-2008) to prepare Navy, Air Force, and Army Reserve Soldiers for assignments in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa. Units included training up the Provincial Reconstruction Teams for Afghanistan.
He is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College and various other leadership and skills training courses. He currently provides pro bono legal services, Veterans outreach for homeless Veterans, is a member of the Veterans Panel for the Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida and a committee member of the Florida Bar Military Affairs and Veterans Treatment Courts.
