Brigadier General Michael Clark was commissioned in the Air Defense Artillery upon graduation from Eastern Illinois University’s Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program in May of 1998. His first Active Duty assignment was as an Avenger Platoon Leader with 2-44 ADA at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. While assigned to Fort Campbell, he also served as a Sentinel Platoon Leader and as the Division’s Deputy G-5.
General Clark transitioned from Active Duty to the Army Reserve in 2001. His major duty assignments in the Army Reserve have included Simulation Coach and Company Commander with the 85th Division, OC/T with the 75th Division, Battle Captain for the 377th Theater Sustainment Command, CGSC Instructor, S3 for the 206th RSG, Operations Officer for the Department of Homeland Security, Battalion Commander for 2-330th ENOSUT, Army Reserve Sustainment Command’s Detachment Commander for Joint Munitions Command, LOGCAP Brigade Commander, Chief of Staff for the 103d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Chief of Staff for the 377th Theater Sustainment Command, and Operational Command Post (OCP) Chief at ARNORTH for the 377th Theater Sustainment Command .
Upon promotion to brigadier general, he has served as the commanding general for Army Reserve Sustainment Command and as the deputy commanding general – operations for the 377th Theater Sustainment Command
General Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Eastern Illinois University, a master’s degree in management from the University of Maryland – University College, and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the United States Army War College.
General Clark’s military awards include; Legion of Merit (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge, Airborne Badge, Air Assault Badge, Superior Unit Award and, the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
General Clark is a retired Captain with the Peoria (IL) Police Department, where he served as the head of the Uniformed Operations Division, re- sponsible for the Patrol, Traffic, K9, Special Response Team (SRT), and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units. He is the proud father of two.
