A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the opening of the 96th Infantry Division "Deadeye" Memorial Army Reserve Center at Camp Williams, Utah, Aug. 8, 2026. The state-of-the-art facility was built through a partnership among the U.S. Army Reserve, the University of Utah, the state of Utah and the Utah National Guard. Earlier in the day, a formal closing ceremony was held at Fort Douglas, Utah, during which the final 50 acres of the fort were transferred to the university.
