WASHINGTON, D.C. - A member of the 3rd United States Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), tells the story of Emil Kapaun during Association of the United States Army's opening ceremony at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., Oct. 10, 2022. Kapaun was World War II Army chaplain who saved hundreds of American lives. This year's theme is Building the Army of 2030. AUSA's vision is to be recognized by the Army, Congress, industry partners and communities across the nation as the Army’s premier association and the foremost supporter of the Total Army.
