After nine years of enlisted service, Staff Sgt. Juan J. Maldonado was commissioned a second lieutenant in a ceremony conducted Jan 21 at the Armed Forces Reserve Center at Ellington Field, Texas, by Maj. Gen. James "Boe" Young, Jr., commanding general of the 75th Training Command. Maldonado was accompanied by his wife, Keyla Pardo, his grandfather, Juan Maldonado, and his two children, Malia and Isaak. He serves as a Senior Budget Analyst for the 75th Training Command. As an Army Reserve Soldier, he is the executive officer and disbursement agent of the 398th Financial Management Detachment at Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Congratulations, 2nd Lt. Maldonado.
