Mampre was one of the 'Band of Brothers' whose exploits were made into an HBO television series and also a book by historian Stephen Ambrose. Mampre died May 31, 2019, in Evanston. Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division; Brig. Gen. Kris A. Belanger, Commanding General, 85th U.S. Army Reserve Support Command and representatives from several police departments took part in the funeral service.
