France - Mayo brothers, William and Charles, were both Medical Reserve Corp doctors. William Mayo served as chief consultant for all surgical services in the U.S. Army during World War I. The Mayo brothers, William and Horace, started a surgical group clinic at St. Mary’s Hospital and later formed the Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minnesota. (Photo courtesy Army Reserve History Office)
