80th Training Command emphasizes “safety-culture” during workshop

CAMP ROBINSON, Ark. – Maj. Gen. A.C. Roper, commander of the 80th Training command, addresses participants of the command’s safety workshop Aug. 11, 2016.  “Safety is a leader’s responsibility and we are all leaders regardless of the rank on our chests,” Roper said.  “It is incumbent upon us as leaders to make sure we do everything necessary to ensure our Soldiers, professional staff members, military technicians, and civilians return home to their families.”

Let There Be Light: Army Reserve Honored for Energy Efficiency Projects

The 9th Mission Support Command and 99th Regional Support Command
replaced fluorescent light bulbs with energy efficient light emitting diodes
in U.S. Army Reserve facilities in Hawaii and Pennsylvania to save energy
and money. Their efforts gained accolades from the U.S. Department of
Energy's Interior Lighting Campaign.

Fallen 63rd RSC officer remembered at memorial ceremony

Staff Sgt. Juan Martinez, senior human resource specialist, 63rd Regional Support Command, pays tribute to Capt. Joel Ico during a memorial service for Ico, Aug. 14, headquarters auditorium, Mountain View, Calif. Ico died July 4 at the age of 41, following an accident at his residence. 983rd Engineering Battalion Completes Annual Training at Crane Army

U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 983rd Engineering Battalion performed their annual training July18-Aug. 14 at Crane Army Ammunition Activity. An aspect of their hands on training was renovating two ammunition storage facilities by placing siding and a secure entrance on the existing structure. On this project Soldiers had the opportunity to work with material handling equipment provided by Crane Army, as well as an opportunity to work with heavy construction equipment that the 983rd supplied. The projects improved CAAA’s infrastructure while at the same time provided Soldiers with valuable training.

Soldiers from several Army Reserve public affairs units participate in pre-deployment training during the 99th Regional Support Command’s five-day Staff Exercise Aug. 8-12 at command headquarters on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. The STAFFEX was designed to integrate the 99th RSC’s full-time military and civilian employees with the command’s Troop Program Unit (TPU) Soldiers in a scenario-driven exercise to test various processes and personnel as they relate to Defense Support of Civil Authorities.
