Contest brings out the best in Reserve Soldiers

The winners of the 642nd Regional Support Group's Best Warrior Competition at Fort McClellan, Ala. At right, U.S. Army Sgt. Wayne Jones of Gainesville, Ga., a team leader with the 461st Human Resources Company, was named top NCO of the contest during a short ceremony Saturday, Feb. 20. Likewise, U.S. Army Spc. Kyle K. Meheula of Kalihi, Hawaii, a mechanic with the 642nd Regional Support Group, earned the top enlisted award. The four-day competition tested the Reserve Soldiers' military skills, bearing, knowledge and physical fitness through a variety of tasks and events.

Lone female competitor embodies Warrior Ethos at 364th ESC BWC

Spc. Christine Holzwarth of Billings, Mont., was the sole female Soldier in the 364th ESC Best Warrior Competition held at JBLM March 2-5. Holzwath advanced from the 652nd Regional Support Group’s competition held earlier this year in Helena, Mont. The BWC shows that the Soldiers of 364th ESC are committed to the warrior ethos and stand ready, trained and able to defeat the enemies of the United States.
