1st MSC Officer Professional Development helps officers stay relevant

Over 120 1st MSC officers attended the Officer Professional Development (OPD) training session Saturday, Jan. 9. The training focused on officer career development and promotions.

Citizen Soldiers recognized for 68 years of combined dedicated service

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Doll, commander of the Army Reserve Sustainment Command, awards Lt. Col. Jackie Crittenden with various awards and certificates during his retirement ceremony. Crittenden’s career spanned over 39 years of military service in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve.  He received the Meritorious Service Medal along with several certificates of appreciation and a memento of an eagle made out of Alabama clay from the Army Reserve Sustainment Command.

STEMming from the community

Kids attending the the U.S. Army’s Ten80 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math festival (STEMfest) have fun during a performance by DJ Crespo at Sunset Station Jan. 8 in San Antonio. Crespo is a popular electronic dance music DJ and his performance provided an avenue for the kids to relax and let loose after the mentally exhausting day. STEMfest connects industry, education and community by teaching middle and high school students the importance of real-world math, science and engineering problem solving. Local businesses and industry partners, like the Army, collaborate to formulate problem solving challenges relating to their industries. These challenges are designed to encourage students to take their best shot at developing a solution.

All-American Bowl players, mentors get a lesson from Texas kids
