Seth Conoway, work leader at the U.S. Army Reserve's Area Maintenance Support Activity 112 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, delivers a laundry advanced driver system August 8 for repairs.  AMSA 112’s mission is to maintain readiness by providing field-level maintenance support to six assigned Army Reserve units within its region, provide training to unit personnel and prepare equipment for mobilization.

Joint training exercise ensures combat readiness for military medics

3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support)’s 345th Combat Support Hospital out of Jacksonville, Florida, commanded by Col. Noel Pace, is one of the training audiences participating in Global Medic 2017 at Fort Hunter Liggett, California.  The nearly 250 Soldiers assigned to the CSH spent the first few days setting up the hospital and getting it ready to begin receiving patients.  The exercise runs 8-28 July, 2017.
Global Medic’s unique training opportunity allows U.S. Army Reserve medical units to train alongside their multi-component and joint partners as part of the America’s Army Reserve evolution into the most lethal Federal Reserve force in the history of the nation.  The training audience for this year’s Global Medic exercise totaled more than 1,100 service members, ensuring individuals, teams and units are better prepared to provide medical care when they are called to deploy.

First Army helps build a more mobile force of ready reserve

U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers assigned to the 718th Engineer Company, based in Fort Benning, Ga., assess a site to improve a berm in order to place a fuel blivets, a collapsible tank, during Combat Support Training Exercise 91-17-03, July 18, 2017 at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif. Approximately 5,000 Army Reserve and National Guard forces participated in the exercise. First Army provided about 65 observer coach/trainers to augment their Army Reserve partners at the 91st Training Division and assist in training the most capable, combat-ready and lethal federal reserve force in the history of the nation.

Overseeing Big Lots West-2017

The 1394th Transportation Surface Brigade conducted the Big Logistics-Over-the-Shore West 2017 at Camp Pendleton, for joint operations with the United States Navy and U.S Marine Corp, during the month of July. The Navy’s Landing Craft Air Cushion delivers cargo from ships directly to the beach, where the Marines were on scene to give logistical support with transportation once the delivery was made. Big LOTS - West 2017 is a United States Army Reserve functional exercise part of the Army Reserve Training Strategy in order to enhance unit readiness by conducting live and virtual port and bare beach operations with external evaluations.

Engineers provide training grounds for allies

These slabs will be used as firing positions for tanks at the training facility Head is helping construct. The facility will provide Allied forces the opportunity to prepare for potential conflict. The entire operation is led by U.S. Army Reserve engineers, who moved Soldiers and equipment from the U.S. to Romania over a period of several weeks to complete the training facility. Resolute Castle improves interoperability, enhances confidence and security assurance between partner nations, while improving infrastructure, capability and capacity at select locations throughout Europe.
