Army Reserve leader inducted into N.J. high school hall of fame

Kok, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command, left, is inducted into the Allentown High School Hall of Fame Feb. 17 during a ceremony at the school. Kok was nominated for the school’s hall of fame by his former football and cross-country coach, Doug Hunt, right, who taught at Allentown High School for 39 years.

Army Reserve MPs run Guardian Fit Camp

Army Reserve Soldier finds comfort in heavy metal

Staff Sgt. Brad Miller, a public affairs non-commissioned officer with the U.S. Army Reserve's 326th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment in Reading, Pennsylvania, performs Jan. 28 with his band Divination.  The show marked the last performance for the band.  Miller and some of his bandmates are now in a new band, Whatever This Is.  Miller has been performing since coming off of active duty in 1998.

Army Reserve Soldiers learn to connect and reconnect at Strong Bonds event

Couples hold hands during an exercise Jan. 27 as part of a 99th Regional Support Command Strong Bonds event in Baltimore, Maryland.  Strong Bonds is a unit-based, chaplain-led program which assists commanders in building individual resiliency by strengthening the Army Family. The core mission of the Strong Bonds program is to increase individual Soldier and Family member readiness through relationship education and skills training.

Army Reserve leader pays tribute to New Jersey veterans

Maj. Gen. Troy D. Kok, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command headquartered at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, meets with Jane M. Underkofler, an Air Force first lieutenant who served as a registered nurse, during a Jan. 28 visit to the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, New Jersey. The purpose of Kok’s visit was to thank veterans for their service and encourage young Soldiers to spend time with veterans in their local area.

CROWS are flying to the Army Reserve

The Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) is mounted on top of a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle during a fielding to U.S. Army Reserve units at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, Jan. 23-27, as part of a four-part fielding process intended to field CROWS to more than 25 Army Reserve units this fiscal year. The CROWS is a remote-controlled system compatible with four major crew-serve weapons, and it was developed to keep gunners safe within the vehicle while engaging enemy targets. Army Reserve command launches maintenance readiness program

Maj. Gen. Troy D. Kok, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command, observes training during the command’s new Maintenance Sustainment and Readiness Program. The program gives Army Reserve Soldiers the opportunity to perform maintenance tasks at the 99th RSC’s Area Maintenance Support Activities and Equipment Concentration Sites in order to increase skill proficiency and enhance unit readiness.
