Reserve Soldiers compete at Camp Bullis for 80th Training Command 2016 Best Warrior title

CAMP BULLIS, Texas – Approximately 20 Reserve Soldiers from across the nation are here to compete in the 80th Training Command annual Best Warrior Competition March 10-13, 2016.

The 800th Logistics Support Brigade, an 80th TC subordinate command headquartered in Mustang, Oklahoma, is hosting the event, which identifies the best competitors in the lower enlisted and noncommissioned officer categories.  

Competition events will include an urban assault course, physical fitness, weapons handling, rifle and pistol marksmanship, drill and ceremony, land navigation, and first aid. The Soldiers will also take a written exam and report before a panel of sergeants major in full dress uniform to answer questions ranging from military knowledge to current events.    

Competitors will be selected from among more than 6,800 Reserve Soldiers assigned to the 800th LSB and the 80th TC’s subordinate divisions, the 100th Training Division, headquartered at Fort Knox, Kentucky, the 102nd Training Division, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, the 94th Training Division, Fort Lee, Virginia.

The 80th TC and the 800th LSB will hold an award ceremony for the winners at the Camp Bullis post theater at 9 a.m. March 13, 2016.

The 80th TC winners will advance to the United States Army Reserve Command Best Warrior Competition later this year. The winner of the USARC BWC will compete at the Department of the Army level.
