POWIDZ, Poland –
The Army Reserve’s 7th Mission Support Command arrived in Poland, June 4, ready to support a multinational exercise in Eastern Europe.
The support command arrived to Powidz Air Base, Poland to support Saber Strike 18 -- U.S. Army Europe’s premier venue to build readiness in an integrated and complex training environment. The long-standing U.S. Army Europe-led training exercise helps facilitate cooperation amongst the U.S., Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and 19 other allied and partner nations.
The unit will be operating a command post for the multinational exercise that will include force-on-force training exercises across four countries, bridging events, air assault operations, and movement of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment from its home station in Vilseck, Germany through the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia.
Activities across the Baltics and Poland are a clear demonstration of the commitment and solidarity of the Alliance. These training events will build readiness across the total Army, including Active, National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve forces.
The will and capability of a unified alliance will be on display with host nation forces, Enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroups, Multi-National Corps – Northeast, Multi-National Division – Northeast, NATO Force Integration Units and the U.S. rotational forces providing a real operational capability for deterrence.
