James Bailey,“Before the war, I drove a tractor-trailer for the government’s 8662nd Depot. After I was drafted they asked who could drive a truck. I said I could, and then they taught me to drive the Army way – not only hauling supplies and troops, but learning to navigate by compass and dodge enemy aircraft and snipers!” James Bailey was from Dayton, Ohio and returned to a pre-war trucking job for 25 years, then went into administration.
