Father’s Day extra special for deployed Army Reserve soldier

FORT BRAGG, N.C. – Father’s Day is special for most fathers but this year it will be extra special for a member of the U.S. Army Reserve.

Lt. Col. Douglas Dillon of Round Hill, Va., looks forward to the holiday for two special reasons. Next month, the proud father will be returning home from deployment just in time to celebrate with his four children, all of whom he adopted.

Dillon and his wife, Paige, decided to adopt four boys after she was unable to conceive.

Dillon, who is a history teacher as a civilian and former teacher of the year in the state of Virginia, is currently wrapping up an overseas deployment as a civil affairs chief for U.S. Army Central. He is assigned to the 352nd Civil Affairs Command at Fort Meade, Md.
