80th Training Command Soldier captures USARC Instructor Of the Year competition

By Sgt. 1st Class Phillip Eugene, 80th Training Command Public Affairs 80th Training Command (TASS)

Two weeks after Staff Sgt. Jadrian Whitfield won the 80th Training Command Instructor of the Year competition in the enlisted category, the human intelligence collector instructor has captured the IOY title at the Army Reserve Command level.

She said, while winning the competition is rewarding, being an instructor allows her as a leader to help fellow Soldiers learn and grow into confident and competent professionals.

"It is very humbling to be able to represent the best of what USARC instructors are accomplishing on a regular basis," Whitfield said.

The aim of the competition is to identify the best instructor in the Army Reserve.

"I'm thrilled for her as she is an outstanding NCO and Instructor," said Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey Darlington, the 80th TC senior noncommissioned officer. "This honor is a true testament to her passion and individual drive."

Whitfield will now compete in the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command competition in the Army Reserve enlisted category.

Maj. David Porter, who represented the 102nd Training Division, was the competition's runner up in the officer category.
