Command Chief Warrant Officer, 807th Theater Medical Command

Chief Warrant Officer 4 James James, Jr., currently serves as the fifth Command Chief Warrant Officer of the 807th Theater Medical Command, Fort Douglas, Utah. James serves as the senior warrant officer advisor to the commanding general, providing guidance on all issues related to strength management, talent development, professional growth, and the tactical and technical expertise of the unit’s warrant officers. In addition, he functions as the division’s human resources technician for personnel matters, creating innovative solutions to address readiness gaps across the formation.

James joined the Army Reserve in July 2006 and was appointed to the rank of Warrant Officer in April 2010. James went on to become branch qualified for Aviation in September 2011 and the Adjutant General Corps in February 2019.

His assignments as a Warrant Officer include UH60A/L Blackhawk Pilot assigned to A Company 1/169th GSAB and A Company 2/135th Aviation Regiment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; HR Tech assigned to USARC G-1, Fort Bragg; TAC Officer assigned to the United States Army Warrant Officer Career College, Fort Rucker, Alabama; and Senior Warrant Officer Advisor to the 94th Training Division, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.

James’ military education includes Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Education, the Human Resources Management Qualification Course, Initial Entry Rotary Wing UH-60 Track, Common Faculty Developer / Instructor’s Course, IPPS-A Administrator course, Survival Evasion Resistance Escape Level C (SERE-C), Training Advising and Counseling (TAC) Officer Certification Course, and The Army School System (TASS) Leader Course.

His awards include the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Commendation Medal (2nd award), National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with 10-year Device, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Basic Aviation Badge.

James is married with three children.
