CSM Hilton attended Infantry OSUT in 1986 at Ft. Benning, GA as a heavy anti-armor weapons crewman, earning top TOW gunner and top ITV gunner.
He has served at every level in both the operational force and generating force, from Infantry squad leader through Division CSM. His combat tours include a 16-month deployment for OIF to Baghdad, Iraq during the surge in 2006-2008 as an NCOIC/Senior Enlisted Advisor of an embedded transition team for the Iraqi National Police. In 2015, he deployed for Operation Freedom Sentinel as an embedded liaison officer for the Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti –part of CJTF-HOA. He deployed again with CALL from 2016 to 2018 as a military analyst in the Kuwait and Afghanistan AORs supporting Operations Spartan Shield, Inherent Resolve, Freedom Sentinel, and the Resolute Support Mission. In 2018, he served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan (CSTC-A). His previous assignment was the Division CSM for the 78th Training Division, assuming responsibility in February of 2021. He assumed responsibility for his current assignment, the CSM for the Army Reserve Medical Command, in February 2024.
CSM Hilton’s military education includes: All levels of NCO PME and Joint PME; Drill Sergeant School; Company Trainers Course; Instructor & Small Group Instructor Courses; First Sergeants Course; Transition Team School at Ft. Riley, Kansas; Advanced Transition Team School at the Phoenix Academy in Taji, Iraq; Battle Staff NCO Course; TASS Leader Course; BN & BDE Pre-Command courses; the Military Intelligence Brigade Pre-Command Course, and many other functional courses.
His Civilian education includes: A Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management (Summa Cum Laude); an MBA (dual major) in Strategic Leadership & Project Management; and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching & Learning from Norwich University.
CSM Hilton’s awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, and many other individual and unit awards. He is also a recipient of the Military Intelligence Corps’ Knowlton Award.
CSM Hilton has one adult daughter, and he currently resides in Weare, NH.
