Chief Warrant Officer 5 Eric Nordby

377th TSC Command Chief Warrant Officer

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Eric Nordby assumed responsibility as the Command Chief Warrant Officer of the 377th Theater Sustainment Command on March 18th, 2020.  CW5 Nordby previously served as the CCWO of the 85th Support Command located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. 

In April of 1989, CW5 Nordby enlisted in the US Army Reserve as a Private.  He attended the US Army Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training as a supply specialist at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina.   He was appointed as a WO1 in 1996 specializing as a property book technician.  He has completed the didactic training required for maintenance technicians as well as for stock record technicians.  He has drilled in the US Army Reserve in numerous units located in Nebraska, Kansas, Illinois, and Missouri for over 30 years and served at various staff and leadership positions from detachment to combatant command echelons.  He has completed the Warrant Officer Basic, Advanced, Staff and Senior Staff Courses. 

CW5 Nordby has been deployed on three overseas tours in support of Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Inherent Resolve.  From 2002 to 2003, he developed the concept of a central receiving point for the Northern Logistical Hub in the Afghanistan combat theatre and then served as the officer-in-charge of the central receiving point.  CW5 Nordby additionally served as the OIC of the consolidated arms room for Karshi-Khanabad Air Base in Uzbekistan.   From Mar 2008 to Mar 2009, CW5 Nordby was assigned to TRADOC G2 – Human Terrain System and served as the OIC of a Human Terrain Team stationed at Forward Operating Base Warhorse attached to 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment.  He was later attached to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.  Upon return from his second deployment, he was assigned to the United States Strategic Command J41 Directorate. 

CW5 Nordby has been awarded the Combat Action Badge, the Joint Meritorious Unit Service Medal (2 Awards), the Bronze Star (2 Awards), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (4 awards), the Army Achievement Medal (2 awards), the Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), and various other service awards. 

He is currently a police officer in Nebraska and has worked in law enforcement for over 28 years.
