Major General Greg Mosser assumed responsibility as the Deputy Chief of Army Reserve, Office of the Chief of Army Reserve on 1 September 2022. In this capacity he serves as the senior advisor to the Chief, Army Reserve on policies, plans and programs for the USAR including force structure, Congressional budget and appropriations process, development of manpower and personnel policies, and key administration and Department of Defense/Joint Chiefs of Staff initiatives for the USAR. Prior to this assignment he served as Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Reserve Command headquartered in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, from April 2021 to August 2022.

He was commissioned in the United States Army Reserve as a Finance Officer after graduating from the University of North Dakota.

MG Mosser’s assignments include Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, 123rd United States Army Reserve Command; Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 302nd Maintenance Battalion; and Executive Officer, 302nd Maintenance Battalion. MG Mosser went on to serve as the Commander of the 302nd Maintenance Battalion and as Commander of the 376th Finance Battalion, where he mobilized in 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

After command he became the Chief of Internal Review for the 88th Regional Readiness Command; Deputy Director, Joint Professional Military Education Office, United States Army War College; and the Executive Assistant and Director of Staff in the Office of the Assistants to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff for National Guard and Reserve Matters in the Pentagon. In 2010, he mobilized and joined the J5 Plans Division, Headquarters, United States European Command in Stuttgart, Germany. He commanded the 2nd Brigade, Great Lakes Division, 75th Training Command (Mission Command) from 2011 through 2012. From there, he served as the Deputy Program Manager / Chief of Staff, Office of the Program Manager-Facilities Security Forces (OPM-FSF), in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Following his Middle East assignment, he became the Assistant Chief of Staff, G3, 79th Sustainment Support Command in Los Alamitos, CA. His most recent assignments include serving as Deputy Commanding General, 99th Regional Support Command; Commanding General, 364th Sustainment Command (EXP); Assistant to the Deputy Commanding General, United States Army Reserve Command; Commanding General, 377th Theater Sustainment Command; and the Deputy Commanding General, United States Army Reserve Command.

His military education includes the Finance Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Ordnance Officer Advanced Course, the Logistics Management College, and the Combined Arms Staff College. He graduated from the United States Army War College in 2009 with a Masters in Strategic Studies and completed CAPSTONE in 2018. MG Mosser holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota; he also holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.

MG Mosser’s awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.
