Chief Warrant Officer 5 John F. Horn serves as the Command Chief Warrant Officer, for the Military Intelligence Readiness Command (MIRC), Fort Belvoir Virginia

CW5 John Horn enlisted into the Army in 1988. He served as an Intelligence Analyst in the 356th Military Intelligence Special Forces, CEWI, Airborne, and was later assigned to D Co, 3rd BN 20th Group Special Forces. Throughout his tenure, he provided intelligence support in Honduras, Puerto Rico, and was mobilized in support of Operation Desert Shield / Storm in 1991.

CW5 Horn served as a Central Asian States Analyst with United States Central Command, Joint Intelligence Center until early 2000. He continued to serve in a variety of assignments to include Targeting Officer developing Measurements and Scientific Intelligence Targeting products, Operations Officer developing high value targets, and lead analyst in charge of standing up the J2 Analytical Cell, Combined Forces Command – Afghanistan. In 2006, CW5 Horn accepted reassignment to Detachment 2, 2500 Military Intelligence Group serving as the Senior All Source Intelligence Advisor. By 2018, he was selected to serve as the Senior Warrant Officer Advisor for the Central Command Army Reserve Element and the 648th RSG. CW5 Horn currently works as the Managing Director of East Coast Client Support Operations for Black Knight, Inc, a technology company in the finance industry.

CW5 Horn holds a Masters of Business Administration from Jacksonville University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology, Cell Science and Chemistry from the University of Florida. He is a graduate of the All Source Intelligence Analyst Course, Basic Parachutist, All Source Intelligence Technician Course, Military Intelligence Warrant Officer Advanced Course, National Ground Intelligence Center Introductory Analyst Course, National Ground Intelligence Center Analytic Writing Course, Warrant Officer Staff Course, and Warrant Officer Senior Service Education Phases 1, 2, and 3.

CW5 Horn’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal (3rd award), Joint Service Achievement Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal (4th award), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (5th award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2nd award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award (2nd award), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Afghanistan Campaign Medal - Campaign Star, Expert Marksmanship Badge – Pistol, Rifle.  Foreign Badges include German Armed Forces Marksmanship, Badge Silver (Schuetzenschnur), Honduran Parachute badge and the Knowlton Award.

CW5 Horn is married to the former Kelly Ann Miller of Honolulu, HI. They have four children: Joseph, Tyler, John, and Katelynn.
