Simulators help Army Reserve Soldiers gain weapons proficiency at Operation Cold Steel III

FORT HUNTER LIGGETT, Calif. - U.S. Army Reserve Pfc. Araceli Venegas with the 419th Transportation Company, based in Salt Lake City, identifies a target for Spc. Cody Densley, a HMMWV gunner, in the Warrior Skills Trainer virtual simulator during Operation Cold Steel III at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., on February 8, 2019. Vehicle crews must learn to work together to quickly identify targets during gunnery to maximize their qualification scores. Operation Cold Steel III trains and qualifies Army Reserve Soldiers on M2 .50 caliber machine guns, M19 40 mm automatic grenade launchers and M240 7.62 mm machine guns weapons systems in ground and mounted military vehicles, in order to provide lethal and combat ready units ready to deploy anywhere in the world.
