Army Reserve Ambassador James Lundell enlisted in the United States Army Reserve on 9 July 1962 and served as a general supply specialist. He was promoted through the ranks to Sergeant First Class before attending Officer Candidate School. Commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry in 1972, he was assigned to Company C, 3D BN 3D INF (“The Old Guard”), 205th Inf Bde (Sep) as a Weapons Plt Leader. Mr. Lundell served in every command position from platoon through battalion, culminating his command time as the last Battalion Commander of the 3D Battalion, 3D Infantry (“The Old Guard”) at Fort Snelling, MN with companies at Arden Hills, Cannon Falls, Mankato and Fort Snelling.
