Army Reserve Ambassador Kurt A. Hardin assumed the position of Director of Emergency Services for Thurston County, Washington in 2016, which includes Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Management for the county.  He previously served in the Washington State Emergency Management Division 1996 2016 with responsibilities including the Governor’s Authorized Representative/State Coordinating Officer for 12 federally declared disasters responsible for statewide disaster recovery and was the Deputy Director prior to leaving in 2016. He holds a BS in Finance from the University of Florida and a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
