FORT JACKSON, S.C. - U.S. Army Reserve drill sergeant candidate, Sgt. Pabon Luis, future drill sergeant with the 1st Mission Support Command completes an obstacle at the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy, July 20, 2023 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Symbols of excellence, Army drill sergeants are responsible for coaching, counseling and mentoring future Soldiers during their transition from civilian life. The U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy takes a people first approach – producing lethal and agile drill sergeants capable of developing tomorrow’s elite warrior.
