ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Aida Bonsonto wears a wedding dress, circa 1946, made from a parachute, that was sent home to her by Army medic Gerald “Jerry” Bonsonto who served with the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II. After the war ended, the couple married at Holy Family Church in Chicago on June 8, 1946 and went on to raise a family. Bonsonto is loaning her dress to the 82nd Airborne Division War Museum at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where it will go on display. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Sgt. David Lietz)
