ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - U.S. Army Reserve battalion commanders, assigned to the 85th Support Command but operationally controlled by First Army, review the agenda and briefing products during the 85th Support Command’s Leader Huddle at their headquarters, Apr. 6, 2018. Commanders assigned throughout the continental U.S. and Puerto Rico arrived to the briefing to meet with the commanding general, Brig. Gen. Kris Belanger and staff. Key points of discussion included, future planning for the command, response to global threats, review of the command’s overall readiness levels, and leader development. The weekend-long briefing also included diversity and inclusion training, a command run, an award recognition to the most improved battalion in terms of readiness, and a birthday cake cutting for the Army Reserve’s 110th birthday anniversary. Additionally, Belanger held a patching ceremony for battalion commanders, following a released order, requiring Soldiers assigned to the 85th Support Command to wear the “Custer Division” Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, in accordance with the army regulation, when not mobilized.
