Army Reserve surgeon answers the call

FREDRICKSBURG, Texas - U.S. Army Reserve Col. Paul Phillips III (far right), orthopedic surgeon and chief of Professional Services with the 228th Combat Support Hospital at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, is shown here during a deployment to Haiti in 2011. Phillips practices medicine full time as part of the Orthopedic Surgery team at Hill Country Memorial Medical Group in Fredericksburg, Texas, and the 23-year military veteran is now a consultant to the U.S. Army Surgeon General, a role in which he’s helping recruit orthopedic surgeons into the reserves.
